We had such a good time running around, looking at the animals and old buildings at Longstreet Farm.

We got some great shots, and mom bought an individual canvas of each girl:

Instead, we went to our hotel, to try to take some more “posed” pictures in the lobby. Unfortunately, by then, the kids weren’t really happy, so cooperation was low.

Mikaela’s new shoes were very nice looking, so I grabbed a quick shot of them as well:

We lounged around a bit in the hotel, and this precious little girl (Bethany) came around, and was very friendly, especially towards Jonathan:

Bethany didn’t mind the camera, so I shot some pictures of her as well; just a few candids which I’ll be emailing them to her grandfather.

When we came back to our friend’s house, we caught their son and daughter playing along. I quickly shot this picture of their son:

It has been a busy year already, so getting a weekend away will be great. We have a few plans:

• Barbecue
• Symphony
• Fireworks
• Oh, and more relaxing

The store is beautiful, and I actually will be going back there to shop for some needed appliances in my house!

We took formals at St. Louis Cemetery, as well as in Jackson Square, and in the hotel.

The ceremony was in Jackson Square, right in front of the statue, and the beautiful cathedral! After that we did a parade through the French Quarter, called a Second line! I never had to run at a wedding, but here I did. I had a blast, though. Leslie and Don’s wedding included everyone in the city it seemed! It was great. We ended up at Café du Monde, and had delicious beignets!

I love the architecture in New York City:

We climbed our way to Top of the Rock. Since it was such a beautiful day, we could see for miles:

We walked to FAO Schwartz, and were greeted by a friendly doorman:

We then walked to Central Park. There were several street performers, but these guys were awesome:

Around Literary Walk we saw some other artists and performers:

We started out shooting in the studio, and then we moved to Holmdel Park. It was a beautiful day outside!

I used up more than one of the CF cards, and have been processing their pictures since, trying to design a nice 8×8 album for them! These custom albums are great, and Kathy is very excited about receiving one of them!

All the firemen worked unbelievably hard, and were on-site for a long time. It was great to see that our local fire department runs one smooth operation!

Edited to add: Thanks to 2 LT. Rich Leswing, I now know that it was not a real fire, but rather a Keyport Fire Department Drill

I was really excited when I got home, and the big box of goodies was there…. so here, for your excitement as well, a buildup of all the stuff in the box:

First came out… the several kinds of licorice:

Then we added some Rusk (Beschuit), Syrup, Dutch Mayo, Chocolate, and Stroopwafels:

Next was stuff to put on the rusk… chocolate sprinkles, and chocolate shavings:

As if that wasn’t enough, there was some more licorice, and some honey cake:

One of tomorrow’s dinner ingredients was next: “Mie nestjes” (egg noodles, I think):

It will take us a while to eat all this, but I am very excited, and I can’t wait to savor every little bit of it!!

Kathy outdid herself, on both nights, with fantastic foods. Every year she goes out of her way to accommodate some of the picky eaters (me!).

The weather was perfect, and we absolutely loved walking around. It was the first time in a long time that Deb and I just took a day for ourselves, and we needed it!
